The Mathetes Trust works with local church leaders who share these values; we work mainly in the UK and in Africa. There are many ways in which churches can connect with us; each church will begin in a different place.
Ways to get involved with us

- ROOTED IN JESUS
We may be able to offer you an opportunity to link with an African diocese through our Rooted in Jesus programme.
- TRAVEL WITH US
We can offer an opportunity to be involved in a week of mission to another church in the UK, or to be involved in other faith-sharing projects.
- EQUIP
You may like to become a member of an EQUIP group; these are for church leaders and meet three times a year for mutual support and teaching. Members are provided with an experienced person from whom they can seek advice at any time. This support person will sometimes visit the church, partly to observe, partly to contribute as and if required.
- DEFINING YOUR MISSION
We can work alongside a church to help you to develop a mission statement and unite around it, and then, as a second stage, set priorities and plans for the immediate future.
- PARISH MISSIONS
We can send you a visiting team for a week of mission. The aim of a mission is to reap what has been sown, perhaps over many years. Missions also serve to greatly increase the confidence of a church about evangelism.
- PRAYER WEEKENDS
We can bring a small team of people to your church for a weekend, to help the church to develop its prayer life, to hear from God and receive answers, both as individuals and as a church.
- BEAUTIFUL LIVES
We can offer the Beautiful Lives course, which is aimed at teaching Christians how to reach out with the gospel to families, friends and colleagues. You could lead this course yourselves, or we could lead all or part of it for you, or provide training or speakers for events.
- DISCIPLESHIP COURSE
We can offer The God Who is There discipleship course, which aims to sharpen up the discipleship of church members. We can provide materials, train group leaders, or provide speakers.
- THE HEALING MINISTRY
We can offer the In His Name course, aimed at training a healing prayer team. We can provide the materials, we can lead the course for you, or train your leaders. We can provide a speaker for a healing service.
- LENT COURSE
We offer a Lent course, Season of Renewal. We can provide the materials, and training if you need it.
- SMALL GROUPS
We can work alongside a church leader who wishes to grow the church by forming and multiplying small groups. This is hard to do, and it is much easier if you have an ongoing relationship with someone who has already done this successfully.
- MINISTRY TO FAMILIES
We can offer the book Growing Younger, which is a practical guide for churches who wish to increase the number of children and young people who are involved in the church. This is much more likely to succeed if you have a small team committed to the task; we would then work with this team.
- ENLIVENING SUNDAYS
We can offer to work alongside the team of people who lead worship on Sundays, to help them develop a vision for a church which is exciting and fulfilling to belong to.
